Spring Skiing 2019

A brief reminder of what spring skiing is usually like in our area.

This is La Grave in April 2019.

Tom takes it to the limit in fresh powder on the Glacier de la Girose in La Grave.

The weather conditions were really good; it had snowed during the day and the night before we arrived.

However, it was April and the temperature warmed up significantly during the day. This turned the snow very heavy later on and lower down.

On the other hand, the conditions on the glacier, where this was filmed, were excellent.

The Bureau de Guides is the best source of off-piste information and a day out with them is always a memorable one.
